Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals that play an important role in treatment and prevention of injuries, illness and disabilities. Physiotherapists can help you improve your strength, flexibility/mobility, function and well-being through various specialized and hands on techniques.
On your first visit, our Physiotherapists will spend 45 mins to an hour to obtain history of your illness and conduct a detailed physical evaluation to provide you with all the education you need to cope with your injury. They will provide you with home exercises, preventive measures and will formulate a treatment plan based on your goals.
Physiotherapy Rehab at our clinic involves variety of specialized techniques such as:
- Exercise therapy,
- Gait re-education,
- Manual therapy techniques – Mckenzie, Mulligan, Maitland methods,
- Taping techniques (including Ktaping),
- Postural re-education,
- Soft tissue release techniques etc.
- Modalities include: Ultrasound, Laser, IFC, TENS, Electrical muscle stimulation, Hot/cold packs, Paraffin wax baths, Acupuncture etc.

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
At TG Physio and Rehab, our Pelvic Floor Physiotherapists have obtained many specialty training courses and are rostered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario to provide Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy.
Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy can help with the following:
• Urinary Incontinence (stress, urge, mixed)
• Chronic Pelvic pain
• Pelvic Organ Prolapse
• Urgency, Frequency
• Painful Intercourse
• Prenatal and Post natal care
• Diastasis Recti
Commonly treated conditions include Pelvic floor hyper/hypo tonicity, Painful bladder syndrome, Vulvodynia, Vestibulodynia, Pudendal Neuralgia, Levator Ani Syndrome, Pelvic related hip and SI joint dysfunction, C-section/post surgical management etc.
What to expect?
Pelvic Physiotherapy is provided in a clean and comfortable private room. Your physiotherapist will begin by taking a detailed history of your condition and conduct a physical exam. Physical exam includes musculoskeletal exam of joints, muscles in the hip, SI joint and pelvis as well as internal exam (as per your tolerance). If the internal exam is too painful, the physiotherapist will work on the connective tissue of your abdomen, thigh, low back and groin before any internal work is done.
After the appointment, the physiotherapist will work with you to determine the best treatment plan for you. Some of the treatment technologies include – Pelvic floor strengthening exercises (Kegel’s), Pelvic floor relaxation exercises, Manual therapy techniques to release or restore tight tissue/fascia, trigger point release, electrical stimulation, education regarding lifestyle modification.
Pelvic floor physiotherapy is covered by extended health benefits insurance.
We provide Registered Massage Therapy specializing in deep tissue massage, pregnancy massage, Myofascial release techniques, relaxation massage and injury rehab. Massage Therapy is a well known and effective treatment for decreasing pain, stiffness, reducing stress and helping treat/prevent injuries/dysfunctions. It also helps in reducing stress, depression, improve circulation, improve immune system functioning and lymphatic drainage.
Massage Therapy is provided by highly skilled Registered Massage Therapists in a clean and private setting. We provide direct billing for all major insurance providers. Receipts are provided for insurance purposes.
At TG Physio and Rehab, Medical Acupuncture is provided by a Registered Physiotherapist who has obtained specialized training to use Acupuncture in variety of clinical conditions. Acupuncture uses insertion of thin, disposable and sterile needles into the skin and tissue in specific areas on the body.
It is a safe and effective modality which integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts of Neuroanatomy and Physiology. Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the body to relieve pain, aid in relaxation of muscles and fascia. It also helps in improved healing, reduce swelling and inflammation, improve mood, energy and better muscle and nerve function
Compressions socks are used to improve circulation, prevent venous insufficiency and reduce the risk of blood clots. Our compression socks are medical gradient compression hosiery/stockings that promote blood flow, reduce swelling and fatigue. Compression socks are available in wide variety of compression and styles. They come in both men and women’s style and sizing. Compression stocking will be covered by your health insurance and will require a prescription from your family physician.
At TG Physio and Rehab, our occupational therapist specializes in hand therapy and has 20+ years of experience in evaluating and treating injuries and conditions of the upper extremity.
Hand therapy includes non-operative interventions, preventative care and post surgical rehab for wide variety of hand conditions. Hand therapy uses a variety of techniques and tools including activity and exercise programs, manual therapy techniques, custom splinting, bracing, pain modalities, scar and wound management. Conditions we treat include:
• Carpal Tunnel release surgery, flexor/extensor tendon repair, Dupuytren’s release, Mallet finger injuries, crush injuries, hand fractures/dislocations, De-Q, Post Op De-Q, Trigger finger release surgery
