Commonly treated conditions include Pelvic floor hyper/hypo tonicity, Painful bladder syndrome, Vulvodynia, Vestibulodynia, Pudendal Neuralgia, Levator Ani Syndrome, Pelvic related hip and SI joint dysfunction, C-section/post surgical management etc.
Pelvic Physiotherapy is provided in a clean and comfortable private room. Your physiotherapist will begin by taking a detailed history of your condition and conduct a physical exam. Physical exam includes musculoskeletal exam of joints, muscles in the hip, SI joint and pelvis as well as internal exam (as per your tolerance). If the internal exam is too painful, the physiotherapist will work on the connective tissue of your abdomen, thigh, low back and groin before any internal work is done.
After the appointment, the physiotherapist will work with you to determine the best treatment plan for you. Some of the treatment technologies include – Pelvic floor strengthening exercises (Kegel’s), Pelvic floor relaxation exercises, Manual therapy techniques to release or restore tight tissue/fascia, trigger point release, electrical stimulation, education regarding lifestyle modification.
